The bathroom is one place you may not really notice from day to day. Experts suggest if you are thinking of selling your home you take a photo of your bathroom(s) so you know where to start.
Be sure your countertops are clear of clutter and clean. This sets the right mood for a buyer immediately. All your personal belongings should be put away such as make up, hair spray, toothbrushes, toothpaste, jewelry, and prescriptions.
You can leave a neutral color tissue box out if it is in good shape and on a shelf. The same goes for extra rolls of toilet tissue. Put them away unless you can attractively store them on a shelf – in a basket perhaps? Brand new towels can be attractively rolled and stored in a basket also.
Make sure your shower and tub are also clean with all your personal items put away. This allows your buyers to visualize how their own things will look in the space.
Have a neutral color scheme for your walls and shower curtain to create a calming effect. If needed, update bathroom hardware so faucets and other fixtures match.
Most of all, make sure there is a pleasant scent as buyers look in the room. That will make a positive impression.
